Canadian by birth, Roberta arrived on Kauai in 1973 and became a full-time REALTOR with Makai Properties ten years later, with a two-year hiatus in sales to serve with the County of Kauai as a property recovery specialist and senior housing advocate following Hurricane Iniki in 1992.

Roberta began her real estate career with Makai Properties in 1983 when she chose to specialize in the resort investment market focusing primarily on condominium and land investment properties and to this day ranks among the top 3% of all agents in overall condo sales in Poipu. She has represented buyers statewide and enjoys the process of matching people and their lifestyles with property that best fullfills their needs. She stays in very close touch with the market and possesses a working knowlege of economic trends, state and county land use regulation, finance and all things unique to the Kauai real estate market. In 2005, she became a co-owner of Makai Properties upon the retirement of its founding broker, Bob Keown. As a consumate people person, Roberta continues to work directly with her clients and customers while also fullfilling the administrative role for the company in the areas of operations and marketing. When out of the office, she can usually be found along one of Kauai's miraid hiking trails or puttering in her organic garden. She meets once a month with a small group friends who share a passion for fine wine....aka "The Wineauxs" who also travel together every other year to wine regions around the world. Over so many years on Kauai she has served her community in many ways: past vice president of Kauai High School Football Boosters, University of Hawaii Football Boosters and board member with the Kauai Board of Realtors in several capacities as well as 10 years on the Board of Directors of Hawaii Information Service, Kauai's multiple listing service provider. Roberta has been an active member of the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach since 2002, and has served their board in many capacities including Rotary President 2008-09. Roberta's community service focus is primarily in fundraising for the Poipu Rotary's annual Winetasting Extravaganza and Movies in the Park which is a summer program bringing outdoor movies in Poipu Beach Park to the Koloa community. "I love my work. I love my community, and I will be forever grateful for my island home and what it has meant to me and my family through these many years." With Roberta's 38 years on Kauai and 29 of those as a Poipu Realtor, her clients have come to rely on her as a great store of local real estate knowledge.
